The Queen’s Gambit
Beth is left an orphan at the age of nine and is sent to a children’s home. There she develops several addictions and one of them is with the great game of chess. Throughout this mini series, it takes us on a journey from childhood to young adulthood playing and mastering chess. We watch as she plays different and challenging opponents. Some are easy for her to win while others are devastating losses. What did you notice were some of her other addictions? I loved this show because finally a woman was the one to beat in a male dominated sport.
